VTU provides Provisional Degree Certificate for final year students upon successful completion of degree and Convocation Certificate is not yet issued. PDC is a temporary degree certificate which tells that you are eligible to receive Convocation Degree certificate. You’ll be asked for PDC when you apply for Jobs or for higher education until you receive degree certificate.
You can apply for PDC only after the results of 8th semesters are announced. After applying for PDC it usually takes 15 working days to reach your address. You need not to wait for your 8th semester marks card in your hand to apply for Provisional Degree Certificate.

Below steps can be considered for applying for PDC for both UG & PG Courses.
Steps for Applying :
1. Make Online Payment-
Pay a total amount of Rs. 400 through online payment portal provided by VTU. Fill the following details which will be asked during the payment and make sure to Select Provisional Degree Certificate in Type of fee remitted.
Once the transaction is done make sure to note down the Payment ID. It will be asked to fill in the application form.
2. Application Form-
Download and take a print out of application for issue of Provisional Degree Certificate. You can download it from below link.
• Students of Autonomous colleges to note that PDC and verification of marks cards is not done at VTU. Only
Degree certificate and its verification is done at VTU.
• FEES AMOUNT ONCE RECEIVED CANNOT BE REFUNDED. APPLICANT MUST CHECK AND ENSURE THAT PAYMENT BEING MADE IS CORRECT.
• Do not Enclose Copies of Marks Cards with application.
• Payment of PDC fees should be done only through online. (No any other mode of payment will be accepted)
Make sure to read all the above mentioned points in note. Now fill all the details asked in the application properly and cross check it twice. So, there are no mistakes while filling.
3. Submitting Application Form-
There is not mandatory to write a handwritten application along with the filled form. They. If you want you can write one and staple it with application form. Purchase an envelope and place the filled application form along inside envelope.
There are 4 options through which you can get PDC quickly as possible.
Choice 1: Visit VTU Belgaum between 10:30 AM to 12PM and submit the application personally. You will receive the PDC by evening but make sure to reach in time on morning.
Choice 2 :You can submit your filled application form to your nearest regional office. If you need it within a week this is the best option, cause you’ll receive PDC within a week from Regional Office. Choice 3: Speed Post it to VTU HQ ,Belagavi through any courier service or Indian Speed Post to address given Visvesvaraya Technological University, Regional Center Belagavi,
“Jnanasangama”, Mache, Belagavi – 590 018.
You’ll receive the PDC to the address mentioned in application within 15 working days.
Choice 4: Submit through your college if possible.
If you are in need of PDC quickly I prefer go to VTU HQ, Belagavi by wasting a day and receive the PDC else you can go with any options.
